Jeffrey P. Hank, Chair of the Board, Qualys, Inc.
Jeffrey P. Hank has served as a director of our company since January 2010. From June 2005 to July 2012, Mr. Hank was the Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of Intuit, Inc., and Mr. Hank served as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer of Intuit from July 2012 until September 2013. From June 2002 until September 2003, Mr. Hank was an audit partner at KPMG LLP. From September 1994 until June 2002, Mr. Hank was an audit partner at Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Hank holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
Sumedh Thakar, President & CEO, Qualys, Inc.
As CEO and President, Sumedh leads the company’s vision, strategic direction and implementation. He joined Qualys in 2003 in engineering and grew within the company, taking various leadership roles focused on helping Qualys deliver on its platform vision. Since 2014, he has served as Chief Product Officer at Qualys, where he oversaw all things product, including engineering, development, product management, cloud operations, DevOps, and customer support. A product fanatic and engineer at heart, he is a driving force behind expanding the platform from Vulnerability Management into broader areas of security and compliance, helping customers consolidate their security stack. This includes the rollout of the game-changing VMDR (Vulnerability Management, Detection and Response) that continually detects and prevents risk to their systems, Multi-Vector EDR, which focuses on protecting endpoints as well as Container Security, Compliance and Web Application Security solutions. Sumedh was also instrumental in the build-up of multiple Qualys sites resulting in a global 24x7 follow-the-sun product team.
Sumedh is a long-time proponent of SaaS and cloud computing. He previously worked at Intacct, a cloud-based financial and accounting software provider. He also worked at Northwest Airlines developing complex algorithms for its yield and revenue management reservation system. Sumedh has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering with distinction from the University of Pune.
John Zangardi, CEO and President of Redhorse Corporation
John is the CEO and president of Redhorse Corporation, a technology services company delivering decision quality data to federal government customers. Previously, he worked at Leidos as a senior vice president.
Prior to joining Leidos, John enjoyed a distinguished career in government service spanning more than thirty years, concluding with his role as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a presidential appointment. He transitioned to the DHS from the Department of Defense (DoD), where he served as Acting Chief Information Officer. John also served as the deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for command, control, communications, computer systems, intelligence, information operations & space and the acting Department of Navy chief information officer. John began his career in government service with the U.S. Navy. He retired as a Naval Flight Officer after serving as a squadron commander and in various staff assignments throughout his military service.
He holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Scranton, an M.S. in finance from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Ph.D. in public policy from George Mason University.
Wendy M. Pfeiffer, Former CIO, Nutanix
Wendy M. Pfeiffer has served as a director of Qualys since August 2019. Wendy has more than 20 years of experience leading and deploying technology in support of digital transformation and strategic business initiatives.
She served as the CIO of Nutanix, an enterprise cloud computing company, from January 2017 until March 2023. Prior to Nutanix, Wendy led technology teams for industry-makers like GoPro, Yahoo!, Cisco Systems, Exodus Communications and Robert Half. She has served as a director of SADA Systems, a Google reseller and professional services company, since 2020 and is also a board member for the Girls in Tech global nonprofit and in 2018 was named to the National Diversity Council’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology. Wendy holds a B.S. degree in finance and technology, from the University of Phoenix.
Kristi M. Rogers, Managing Director, Principal to Principal
Kristi M. Rogers is a leading executive and former senior government official with extensive international leadership experience in the public and private sectors. Today, she is the managing director (and co-founder) of Principal to Principal, bringing together senior executive leaders and policy decision-makers in an intimate and confidential setting to consider new and constructive approaches to today’s multifaceted public policy issues. Principal to Principal also assists Boards of Directors and C-suite executives in successfully addressing complex challenges.
A recovering start-up CEO, Kristi successfully launched two companies with extensive overseas operations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Qualys Inc., the Advisory Council for ForgePoint Capital, the Women’s Foreign Policy Group Board of Directors, Business Executives for National Security (BENS) Board of Directors, and Independent Director on the Board of NowSecure.
Kristi is also the President of the Michigan State Society and a regular speaker at Michigan State University’s College of Social Science and other institutions.
General Peter Pace, Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, United States Armed Forces
General Peter Pace has served as a director of our company since May 2009. From June 1967 until October 2007, Gen. Pace served in the United States Marine Corps, including as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Since October 2007, Gen. Pace has been a principal at Pace Enterprises LLC. From February 2010 until its acquisition by Court Square Capital Partners and J. Eric Pike in December 2014, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of Pike Electric Corporation. Since January 2011, Gen. Pace has served on the board of directors of AAR Corp. From November 2012 to February 2014, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of LaserLock Technologies, Inc. Since December 2012, Gen. Pace has served on the board of directors of Textura Corp. From January 2003 to January 2011, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of Steve Myers and Associates, Inc., and from June 2010 to June 2013, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of Wi2Wi, Inc. Gen. Pace also currently serves on the boards of directors of several private companies and previously served on the President's Intelligence Advisory Board and Secretary of Defense's Defense Policy Board. Gen. Pace holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from The George Washington University.
Bill Berutti, Former CEO and Board Member, Plex Systems
Bill Berrutti has served as a director of Qualys since December 2021. He has 30 years of software industry experience working at leading technology and manufacturing companies.
He is the former CEO and board member of Plex Systems, a leader in software-as-a-service manufacturing solutions. From 2014 to 2018, Bill was president of cloud and enterprise solutions at BMC Software. Previously, he spent 17 years in various executive positions at PTC delivering solutions to manufacturers. He began his career at Wallace Computer Service, where he held various management positions. He is currently a board member at aPriori, a product cost software company, and Park Place Technologies, a data center hardware maintenance company.
Bill holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Miami University.
