Philippe Courtot is the chairman and CEO of Qualys, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of cloud security and compliance solutions.
Demonstrating a unique mix of technical vision, marketing and business acumen, Philippe Courtot has repeatedly built innovative companies into industry leaders. As CEO of Qualys, Philippe has worked with thousands of companies to improve their network security. In 2004, Philippe received the SC Magazine Editor's Award for bringing on-demand technology to the network security industry and for co-founding, with former White House advisor Howard Schmidt, the CSO Interchange to provide a forum for sharing information in the security industry.
Before joining Qualys, Philippe was the Chairman and CEO of Signio, an electronic payment start-up that he repositioned to become a significant e-commerce player. In February 2000, VeriSign acquired Signio for more than a billion dollars. Today, VeriSign's payment division, based on the Signio technology, handles 30% of electronic transaction in the U.S., processing $100 million in daily sales. Prior to Signio, Philippe was President and CEO of Verity, where he re-engineered the company to become the leader in enterprise knowledge retrieval solutions. Under Philippe's direction, the company completed its initial public offering in November 1995. Philippe also turned an unknown company of 12 people, cc:Mail, into the dominant e-mail platform provider, achieving a 40% market share while competing directly against IBM and Microsoft. Acknowledging the market leading position of cc:Mail and the significance of e-mail in corporate environments, Lotus acquired the company in 1991. In 1986, as CEO of Thomson CGR Medical, a medical imaging company, Philippe received the Benjamin Franklin award for his role in the creation of a nationwide advertising campaign promoting the life-saving benefits of mammography. Philippe served on the Board of Trustees for The Internet Society, an international non-profit organization that fosters global cooperation and coordination on the development of the Internet. French and Basque born, he holds a Masters Degree in Physics from the University of Paris, came to the US in 1981 and has lived in Silicon Valley since 1987.
Sandra England Bergeron, Board Member, Sophos Group plc and F5 Networks
Sandra E. Bergeron has served as a director of Qualys since June 2006. From 2004 until 2012, Ms. Bergeron was a venture partner at Trident Capital, Inc., a venture capital firm. Ms. Bergeron currently serves on the board of directors of Sophos Group plc; and F5 Networks. Ms. Bergeron previously served on the board of directors of Trace Security, Inc.; and ArcSight, Inc. until it was acquired by Hewlett-Packard Company in September 2010; and also served on the board of directors of TriCipher, Inc. from 2004 until 2010. Ms. Bergeron holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University.
Jeffrey P. Hank, Former Vice President and Corporate Controller, Intuit, Inc.
Jeffrey P. Hank has served as a director of our company since January 2010. From June 2005 to July 2012, Mr. Hank was the Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of Intuit, Inc., and Mr. Hank served as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer of Intuit from July 2012 until September 2013. From June 2002 until September 2003, Mr. Hank was an audit partner at KPMG LLP. From September 1994 until June 2002, Mr. Hank was an audit partner at Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Hank holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
John Zangardi, President, Redhorse Corporation
John is the president of Redhorse Corporation, a technology services company delivering decision quality data to federal government customers. Previously, he worked at Leidos as a senior vice president.
Prior to joining Leidos, John enjoyed a distinguished career in government service spanning more than thirty years, concluding with his role as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a presidential appointment. He transitioned to the DHS from the Department of Defense (DoD), where he served as Acting Chief Information Officer. John also served as the deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for command, control, communications, computer systems, intelligence, information operations & space and the acting Department of Navy chief information officer. John began his career in government service with the U.S. Navy. He retired as a Naval Flight Officer after serving as a squadron commander and in various staff assignments throughout his military service.
He holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Scranton, an M.S. in finance from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Ph.D. in public policy from George Mason University.
Wendy M. Pfeiffer, CIO, Nutanix
Wendy M. Pfeiffer has served as a director of Qualys since August 2019. Wendy has more than 20 years of experience leading and deploying technology in support of digital transformation and strategic business initiatives.
She has been the CIO of Nutanix since 2017. She leads Nutanix’s Global Information Technology function in support of the enterprise cloud company’s business operations and employees. Prior to Nutanix, Wendy led technology teams for industry-makers like GoPro, Yahoo!, Cisco Systems, Exodus Communications and Robert Half. She is a board member for the Girls in Tech global nonprofit and in 2018 was named to the National Diversity Council’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology. Wendy holds a B.S. degree in finance and technology, from the University of Phoenix.
Kristi M. Rogers, Managing Director, Principal to Principal
Kristi M. Rogers is a leading executive and former senior government official with extensive international leadership experience in the public and private sectors. Today, she is the managing director (and co-founder) of Principal to Principal, bringing together senior executive leaders and policy decision-makers in an intimate and confidential setting to consider new and constructive approaches to today’s multifaceted public policy issues. Principal to Principal also assists Boards of Directors and C-suite executives in successfully addressing complex challenges.
A recovering start-up CEO, Kristi successfully launched two companies with extensive overseas operations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Qualys Inc., the Advisory Council for ForgePoint Capital, the Women’s Foreign Policy Group Board of Directors, Business Executives for National Security (BENS) Board of Directors, and is the founder of the Women in National Security group within BENS (Business Executives for National Security).
Kristi is also the President of the Michigan State Society and a regular speaker at Michigan State University’s College of Social Science and other institutions.

General Peter Pace has served as a director of our company since May 2009. From June 1967 until October 2007, Gen. Pace served in the United States Marine Corps, including as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Since October 2007, Gen. Pace has been a principal at Pace Enterprises LLC. From February 2010 until its acquisition by Court Square Capital Partners and J. Eric Pike in December 2014, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of Pike Electric Corporation. Since January 2011, Gen. Pace has served on the board of directors of AAR Corp. From November 2012 to February 2014, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of LaserLock Technologies, Inc. Since December 2012, Gen. Pace has served on the board of directors of Textura Corp. From January 2003 to January 2011, Gen.
