Philippe Courtot, Chairman & CEO, Qualys, Inc.

Philippe Courtot is the chairman and CEO of Qualys, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of cloud security and compliance solutions.

Demonstrating a unique mix of technical vision, marketing and business acumen, Philippe Courtot has repeatedly built innovative companies into industry leaders. As CEO of Qualys, Philippe has worked with thousands of companies to improve their network security. In 2004, Philippe received the SC Magazine Editor's Award for bringing on-demand technology to the network security industry and for co-founding, with former White House advisor Howard Schmidt, the CSO Interchange to provide a forum for sharing information in the security industry.

Before joining Qualys, Philippe was the Chairman and CEO of Signio, an electronic payment start-up that he repositioned to become a significant e-commerce player. In February 2000, VeriSign acquired Signio for more than a billion dollars. Today, VeriSign's payment division, based on the Signio technology, handles 30% of electronic transaction in the U.S., processing $100 million in daily sales. Prior to Signio, Philippe was President and CEO of Verity, where he re-engineered the company to become the leader in enterprise knowledge retrieval solutions. Under Philippe's direction, the company completed its initial public offering in November 1995. Philippe also turned an unknown company of 12 people, cc:Mail, into the dominant e-mail platform provider, achieving a 40% market share while competing directly against IBM and Microsoft. Acknowledging the market leading position of cc:Mail and the significance of e-mail in corporate environments, Lotus acquired the company in 1991. In 1986, as CEO of Thomson CGR Medical, a medical imaging company, Philippe received the Benjamin Franklin award for his role in the creation of a nationwide advertising campaign promoting the life-saving benefits of mammography. Philippe served on the Board of Trustees for The Internet Society, an international non-profit organization that fosters global cooperation and coordination on the development of the Internet. French and Basque born, he holds a Masters Degree in Physics from the University of Paris, came to the US in 1981 and has lived in Silicon Valley since 1987.

 

Sandra England Bergeron, Board Member, Sophos Group plc and F5 Networks

Sandra E. Bergeron has served as a director of Qualys since June 2006. From 2004 until 2012, Ms. Bergeron was a venture partner at Trident Capital, Inc., a venture capital firm. Ms. Bergeron currently serves on the board of directors of Sophos Group plc; and F5 Networks. Ms. Bergeron previously served on the board of directors of Trace Security, Inc.; and ArcSight, Inc. until it was acquired by Hewlett-Packard Company in September 2010; and also served on the board of directors of TriCipher, Inc. from 2004 until 2010. Ms. Bergeron holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University.

Patty Hatter, Former Senior Vice President, McAfee

Patty Hatter is a multiple award-winning technology and business leader who drives digital transformation and growth for global companies. She has served as a director of Qualys since October 2018.

Patty also currently advises early stage technology companies, focused on key technologies such as cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and blockchain-enabled enterprise applications, on topics ranging from strategy to customer engagement. In addition, she is on the Board of Directors for Barrick Gold (NYSE:ABX). Prior to this, Patty was SVP of the McAfee Services organization, which had stunning 50% growth during her tenure, while also achieving the highest customer ratings in the company.

Previous to her role at McAfee Services, she served as general manager of Security and Software for Intel Security as well as CIO and SVP of Operations for McAfee before and during the integration into Intel. Before joining McAfee in 2010 Patty was vice president of business operations at Cisco Systems Inc. where she was responsible for transforming Cisco’s processes and systems for employees, customers and partners. Patty started her career at AT&T Inc.

In recent years she has received a series of highly coveted awards, including “Women of Influence” and “Power Executive” by Silicon Valley Business Journal; “Bay Area CIO of the Year” by both Silicon Valley Business Journal; HMG’s “Transformational CIO Award”; and The National Diversity Council’s “Most Powerful and Influential Woman.” Patty holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Jeffrey P. Hank, Former Vice President and Corporate Controller, Intuit, Inc.

Jeffrey P. Hank has served as a director of our company since January 2010. From June 2005 to July 2012, Mr. Hank was the Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of Intuit, Inc., and Mr. Hank served as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer of Intuit from July 2012 until September 2013. From June 2002 until September 2003, Mr. Hank was an audit partner at KPMG LLP. From September 1994 until June 2002, Mr. Hank was an audit partner at Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Hank holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.

General Peter Pace, Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, United States Armed Forces

General Peter Pace has served as a director of our company since May 2009. From June 1967 until October 2007, Gen. Pace served in the United States Marine Corps, including as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Since October 2007, Gen. Pace has been a principal at Pace Enterprises LLC. From February 2010 until its acquisition by Court Square Capital Partners and J. Eric Pike in December 2014, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of Pike Electric Corporation. Since January 2011, Gen. Pace has served on the board of directors of AAR Corp. From November 2012 to February 2014, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of LaserLock Technologies, Inc. Since December 2012, Gen. Pace has served on the board of directors of Textura Corp. From January 2003 to January 2011, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of Steve Myers and Associates, Inc., and from June 2010 to June 2013, Gen. Pace served on the board of directors of Wi2Wi, Inc. Gen. Pace also currently serves on the boards of directors of several private companies and previously served on the President's Intelligence Advisory Board and Secretary of Defense's Defense Policy Board. Gen. Pace holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from The George Washington University.

Jason Ream, Chief Financial Officer, Mitratech

Jason Ream has served as a director of Qualys since July 2018. Jason is currently the CFO of Mitratech, the leading provider of Enterprise Legal Management software. From April 2016 to March 2018, he was the CFO of Relativity ODA, the leading provider of e-Discovery software. Jason held a variety of roles at SolarWinds from July 2009 to April 2016, including responsibility for corporate development, growth strategy, the Tools business unit, and was CFO from August 2013 through April 2016. From joining SolarWinds prior to its IPO in May 2009 to announcing the $4.6 billion sale of the company in October 2015, Jason was instrumental in setting company strategy and driving growth from $116 million in revenue in 2009 to $504 million in revenue in 2015. Prior to SolarWinds, Jason was an investment banker for approximately 10 years at firms including JPMorgan, UBS and Credit Suisse First Boston. Jason has an AB in Mathematics from Amherst College.

Kristi M. Rogers, Chairman, Aspen Medical International

Kristi M. Rogers has served as a director of our company since August 2013. Ms. Rogers is Chairman of Aspen Medical International. From March 2014 to July 2015, Ms. Rogers served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Aspen Healthcare Services, LLC. From 2012 to 2014, Ms. Rogers served on the Board of Directors of Aspen Medical USA. Ms. Rogers served as a Managing Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP from February 2013 till February 2014. From August 2006 to January 2013, Ms. Rogers served in various positions, including Executive Vice President, President, Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board, at Aegis Defense Services LLC, a provider of security and support services to the U.S. government. Ms. Rogers has also served on the board of directors of several private companies. Ms. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Michigan State University.
